Al-Hogail: Subsidized housing land changes expand supply, private sector partnership

Saudi Cabinet's approval of amendments to Resolution No. 200 on the development of planned land allocated to subsidized housing programs will strengthen public-private partnerships, increase housing supply, and support the provision of housing units for beneficiaries of developmental housing programs, Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail said.

The amendments will accelerate the delivery of homes to eligible beneficiaries while enhancing the efficient use of land designated for the program, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Al-Hogail.

He added that the amendments allow investors to develop planned land and build housing units for developmental housing beneficiaries in exchange for ownership of a portion of the land. The move is expected to improve development efficiency, accelerate project execution, and expand housing supply. He noted that the ministry will announce the executive regulations for the amendments after completing the necessary procedures in coordination with relevant authorities.

According to Argaam data, the Cabinet approved, on Tuesday, allowing investors to develop planned land and construct housing units for developmental housing beneficiaries in exchange for ownership of a share of the land.
